MUNDANO

"some men never

die

and some men never

live

but we're all alive tonight"

Charles Bukowski, You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense

Mundano [Mundane] was a project developed during the 11th Edition of Intendente's Photographic Narratives, guided by photographer Pauliana Valente Pimentel, at Cada Independente.

The Porto Editora Dictionary tells us that Mundano is an adjective relating to the world from a material, profane, and temporal point of view. Which is contrary to spirituality, given to the pleasures of the world. And that is what this work intends to portray in Intendente, through the night. It does not seek to portray what most directly leads us to the Intendente, of (pre)concepts and old memories that are not that far away in time. But, yes, what passes for us, the places and the people where and for whom we pass, but we don't look, or we look and don't see. But they are there every day, without right or wrong, just being what they are. The everyday mundane, the forgotten, the rejected, the earthly. Because at night no one sees what is always there.
